Stanley Ipkiss is lonley and he wants to find the perfect girl. He is Mr. Nice Guy and has has a good heart. He finds an ancient mask and when he puts it on, he becomes the Mask, a character who's life is what Stanley wishes his could really be like. The mask brings out his desires, etc. He falls for Tina, a singer. He really likes her but only when he is The Mask, he feels confident enough to have anything to do with her. She likes the Mask but soon realizes that Stanley is who she really loves.
