The Unnatural Act

In 1991, Jim Carrey was back live on stage in a one-hour Showtime special, called the Jim Carrey Unnatural Act Comedy Special. The show was featuring a different Jim Carrey, who changed his style of humor. Impressions of Jim were featuring Frankenstein, a guy who's running in slow motion, a crazy dude who wants to eat his own neck, and a lot more. We also saw Jim saying: "I'd like to go a way back now" and he fell on the floor! Before the Showtime special was aired, in November, Jim's mother, Kay, passed away. Jim dedicated his Jim Carrey Unnatural Act Comedy Special to the memory of Kathleen Carrey, a.k.a. Mommsie.

Jim's Liners From The Act:

SAY NO TO DRUGS- I couldn't be doing this and doing drugs. No thank you. Besides, drugs can't do this. Only reality can.

MENTAL ILLNESS- Madness is never that far away - it's only as close as saying 'yes' to the wrong impulse. Luckily, each of us has that voice inside our heads that says, 'Uh-uh-uh! Turning the car into on coming traffic. . .is counter-productive!' Imagine if we didn't have that voice. I wouldn't be here right now. I'd be in the shark tank at Sea World.

Saturday Night Live

Jim Carrey's Opening Monolouge:

"People of New York! I am a visitor from outer space! I come not to destroy, but to make a fair peace. In exchange, I want your unconditional surrending, to The Cable Guy, opening June 14th. Our worlds are similar, yet different. Where I come from, minimum wage is 20 millions dollars. Just wait a second, please. I came on this stage in order to make you laugh, and there's this guy in the front row with a stoned face! He didn't even smile. Hey what's the problem? Buddy! Well, I'm just not crazy about this alien thing...Can you be more like you are in your movies? Oh! I see! Too smart for you hen? I know what you want. You want the Jim Carrey who comes out here and goes AAAAAaaaaalll Righty Then!!!...Somebody Stop me!!!...Looooossseeeerr!!! ...SSSSSSSSmokinnnn!!!...Well, in that case, Lemme Show You Something, hahahahahahahaha!!! We have a great show! Soundgarden is here tonight, ladies and gentlemens! Stick around and watch me sell out big time!!!"

Sketches:

Spartan Spirit Cheerleaders- Spartan Spirit Cheerleaders gained an exchange student from Europe named Lockmeal (played by Jim Carrey).

The Roxbury Guys- Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan and Jim Carrey are The Roxbury Guys, who go from club to club picking up women in the most unusual ways. The freaks managed to crash: a bar, a High School dance, a Wedding, and an Old-Age Home...all in one night!

The Life-Guard- An overprotective life-guard for a jaccuzi! He required: binoculars, flags, a bullhorn, life preservers, and he allowed lap swimming! Man overboard. Lifeguard Carrey won't leave Will Ferrell alone as he tries to relax in a jacuzzi.

I'll see you in Hell- Joe (Jim Carrey) says, "I’ll see you in Hell!" in every sentence he speaks or writes.

The Joe Pesci Show- On The Joe Pesci Show, Pesci (Jim Brewers) talks to Jim Carrey and Jimmy Stewart. Jimmy Stewart and Jim Carrey get into an argument... with a twist: Jim Carrey impersonating James Stewart impersonating Jim Carrey verbally battling Mark McKinney impersonating Jim Carrey impersonating James Stewart!!!

Jimmy Tango's Fat Busters- Jimmy Tango is a high drug addict who sells his crystal meth with heat beads combo as a rapid weight loss program.
