Jim Carrey On Oprah + Pictures
A different side, the side that everyone is used to seeing, was in full force today as Jim
licked, joked around with, and entertained Oprah. Unlike a few nights ago on 60 Minutes (which I personally liked). Oprah had a huge cake brought out to congratulate him on becoming a US
citizen. He was very touched.
He also talked about his eating habits, his life "Life is good, I am happy", and of course,
Lemony Snicket. He said that he had a really good time with this one and that it was an honor to work with Meryl Streep.
Thanks to Oprah.com, here are a few quotes from the show:
Oprah: Is it true you're on a real health kick now?
Jim: You know, I live a monastic lifestyle. No, I do. I do live in extremes, basically.
I go back and forth. Once every six months, I'll have a
day where I eat more chocolate than has ever been consumed by a human being.
So what was it like for a critically acclaimed actress like Meryl Streep to work with a comedic genius like Jim Carrey?
Meryl: Well, you just try to swim as fast as you can to keep up. I mean, it's wild.
And, you know, [there are] no stimulants. Don't need coffee. Don't eat anything. Just go to the set and plug in to Jim.
Jim: She loves to play, which is great. That's the thing about her. I was so excited about the fact
that she comes [to the set] like a kid to the sandbox.
Jim Carrey says he had a great time playing multiple characters in the Lemony Snicket movie—one in particular.
"I really kind of loved Stephano," Jim says. "I mean, I loved all of them, but Stephano was just kind of a magical creation.
He was the guy who thinks everyone tells him he looks like Antonio Banderas."
Review of Jim's Touching 60 Minutes Interview
First, in my personal opinion, I must say that I feel this to be one of Jim's best interviews.
He is open, honest, and for one of the first times, he lets us into his world in a very personal way. I must say, "Thank you
Jim, for sharing yourself with the world in such an intimate way." Jim Carrey said, "I was up until 3 a.m.,
I got very little sleep because I wasn't just gonna flail helplessly in front of the camera, you know?
I wanted to focus on what I believe because I want to give the world the real thing."
Not only does he open up about
his battles with depression, which millions of viewers can relate to, he also took us into his private
screening room where he displays his costumes from his movies. Then we are wisked away to his
his newly constructed "private place"
where he can be spiritual and connect with God, get away from the world, and have quiet time.
His outside private area resembles a porch with a bed-like place filled with
pillows and candles. Even though it was raining during that part of the interview, it was still magical.
In referring to
this spot Jim said, "This is my spot. This is the center of the universe. This is where I hang out with Buddha
and Krishna and you know, all those guys. Jesus. I'm a Buddhist, I'm a Muslim, I'm a Christian.
I'm whatever you want me to be," says Carrey. "It all comes down to the same thing.
You are either in a loving place, or you are in an unloving place. If you are with me right now, you cannot be unhappy.
It’s not possible, just try." Jim also make several comments stating that he is happy with his spirituality.
"You know, what the hell? What the hell? You know, whatever. I just want to be myself. You know," says Carrey.
"And if that, what if I lose a few fringe people who
can't go with the fact that there's other forces in the world, that's OK with me."
We got to see a side of Jim that is unlike any other. He has decided that he is happy with himself.
"Just be in the moment. And live now. Because this is all there is.
And enjoy now like a child. And be your authentic self," says Carrey.
In terms of his career, Jim said, "I want to be the greatest actor that ever lived, frankly. I'd love that. But I don't need to be.
I just want to be here. That's it," says Carrey. "When the opportunity arises, and I'm on the set.
And I'll be there tomorrow. I'm not going to live it until I get there, and when I get there,
I'm going to have a great time. I'm going to walk into the set and I'm going to go,
'Hey humans. How are you doing? Let's have fun. Let's play in the sandbox.'"
Jim also addresses his depression issues which many people may not have even known that he had.
"I was on Prozac for a long time. It may have helped me out of a jam for a little bit, but people stay on it forever.
I had to get off at a certain point because I realized that, you know, everything's just OK," says Carrey.
"There are peaks, there are valleys.
But they're all kind of carved and smoothed out,
and it feels like a low level of despair you live in.
Where you're not getting any answers, but you're living OK.
And you can smile at the office. You know? But it's a low level of despair. You know? I rarely drink coffee.
I'm very serious about no alcohol, no drugs. Life is too beautiful."
After 13 years of following your career,
I am yet once again inspired by your views on life and your beautiful soul. You know what Jim? You are right.
Life is too beautiful. Thank you for reminding us all.

Jim the Author?
Jim Carrey shares with us his writing skills by adding his
thoughts to Rodney Dangerfield's new book titled:
It's Not Easy Bein' Me: A Lifetime
of No Respect but Plenty of Sex and Drugs.
Be sure to
pick up a copy. I cannot wait to read Jim's thoughts and check out his writing style.
Maybe this will wet his whistle for writing and he will write a book or something! Man,
would that be a ride or what?!
Jim Won at Nickelodeon's
Kids Choice Awards
Jim won at this year's Kids Choice Awards, presented
by Nickelodeon. He did not get slimed this year however, unlike last
year's show. But he did try to climb up the rope used for reveiling
who won the award.
He said,"My inner child thanks you, his name is Eugene and he likes
Spiderman. I have learned two things growing up. One is learn to play
and the other is to count. Olaf this Christmas!!" LOL
Jim + Peers at ShoWest
Dinner in Vegas
Jim and his fellow entertainment peers were in Las
Vegas, Nevada on March 24th, for ShoWest. ShoWest is the largest annual
convention for the motion picture industry. As the only international
gathering devoted exclusively to the movie business, it attracts as
a matter of course the most powerful people in filmmaking: the stars,
directors, producers, and studio executives responsible for creating
the most successful motion pictures in the world.
And our man Jim was there! Here are some pictures of this year's ShoWest!

Jim On Ellen's Show
Jim was wonderful on Ellen today! It was so exciting!
He even had his daughter, Jane, there with him. She was sitting in
the audience and Ellen talked to her for a bit & asked her since she
is singing now if she would come sing on her show sometime. Jane seemed
shy about it. :-)
Then Jim talked to Ellen about wanting a green Mustang bike when he
was a kid. And a teacher of his had said that if you pray to the Virgin
Mary, you will get what you want. So he prayed an promised to pray
the Rosary everyday if he could have a green Mustang bike. 2 weeks
later, he won one in a raffle that a friend had entered him in. So
it was really cool that Ellen had him that bike there as well. She
said that she had no idea about that story when she picked out the
bike for Jim. Then he talked about ESOTSM, of course.
Jim's Wonderful Appearance
On Letterman
Jim was super funny and entertaining last night on
the David Letterman Show. He came out full of energy and dancing.
He sat with Dave and they talked a bit about this and that and Jim
said that he would love to do something that was completely original
and had never been done on a talk show before. That would be, of course,
not to talk at all. He said, "Imagine all these people who tune
in to the show all across the country and we won't be talking! They
will not know what is going on." So for about 3 minutes, Dave,
the band, and Jim just sat there quiet and looking at each other.
Then when it came time for Jim to show the movie clip
from Eternal Sunshine, he said he had to do something first to set
up the clip. He called out a guy who works on Dave's show and he had
this guy shave a fresh patch of his hair on top of his head. So then
Jim leans forward and you see this rectangle patch of where his head
was shaved. Then they took the clip and played it in the space on
Jim's head where it was shaved. Like a little movie screen. It was
a riot!
Dave then thanked Jim for coming out to New York to
do the interview and Jim said, "Anytime I can come to self mutilate,
I will."

Jim Carrey Presents
@ 2004 Oscars
Wow! What an Oscar show! Jim presented to famed director
and writer Blake Edwards. His best line when he presented the award
is when Blake wanted Jim to hold his Oscar while he did his acceptence
speech and Jim tried to hand it back to Blake and said, "No, they
don't let me have these." LOL What a perfect statement!
The weird thing about this award that Jim presented, is that a friend
of mine here in LA is Blake Edwards' houseman and assistant! So I
have met Blake, grocery shopped with him and rode in Blake's car.
He is a very nice man and he deserves this lifetime acheivement award
more then people know! Congrats Blake and it was wonderful to see
Jim there!

Doesn't Jim Carrey look nice with an Oscar ®?
Six Million Dollar Man Cancelled... again?
It seems that Jim Carrey is no longer going to be working on the new movie "The Six Million Dollar Man". Jim has been connected with this film on and off for years now. Right when it seems to be set for him to do the role of Col. Steve Austin, it is put on hold again. No word yet if this is a permanent hold or if this film is still in the works. But word is that Jim is no longer attached.
The movie was to be based on the TV show that ran in the late 70's. Basically it was about a crippled test pilot who is rebuilt with nuclear powered limbs and implants, he serves as a unique intelligence agent.
We will keep you informed as to any news that comes in about this development.
Jim Carrey Is the Best of 2004
Two major entertainment sources have named Jim Carrey as one of the best of 2004.
Entertainment Weekly has annouced their Best of 2004 list. They ranked Jim as number 11 for Entertainers of the Year.
E! has also come out with their list of the best movies of 2004. Guess what came in number 1? Yep, you guessed it, Eternal Sunshine!
I am thrilled that Jim had such a great year.

Jim Carrey Replaced in Over the Hedge!
According to ComingSoon.net, Jim Carrey has been replaced as the voice
of R.J. the racoon in the upcoming animated feature film, Over the Hedge. Who has replaced Jim?
Bruce Willis.
At this point, there is no reason listed for why Jim Carrey was replaced.
The article on the website mentions nothing about WHY. We will be sure
to keep you updated when more details are available.
Congrats Jim On Becoming a US Citizen!
It has been reported that Jim Carrey became a US citizen as of
last week. So now he has duel citizenship (Canada & USA). Jim has always said that it is
important to him to be able to become a US citizen because his daughter goes to school and lives
here in the USA and also because of his love for his adopted home & the oppurtunities he
has had here.
"I have no intention of giving up my Canadian heritage,
and all those who loved and supported me,"
Carrey, who is now a dual citizen, said in a statement.
"My upbringing in Canada made me the person I am.
I will always be proud to be a Canadian.
This country has helped define me and make my dreams come true."
Carrey's publicist could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.
So congratulations Jim on such a big step!
Jim's Friend Rodney Dangerfield Dies
Rodney Dangerfield died today at the age of 82. It was back in the
day when Rodney caught Jim's comedy act when Jim was starting out. Rodney knew Jim had something
in him and was wonderful at what he did. Rodney took Jim with him to Las Vegas so Jim could
open Rodney's shows for him.
It was because of people like Rodney that Jim got the
recognition he deserved. Recently, Rodney released a book and Jim had written the foreword.
Dangerfield, who fell into a coma after undergoing heart surgery, died at 1:20 p.m.,
said publicist Kevin Sasaki. Dangerfield had a
heart valve replaced Aug. 25th.
Rest in peace, Rodney. Thank you for sharing your
talent with us as well as the talents of the comics you helped along the way.
My Personal & Upclose
Pictures of the Bruce Almighty Premiere
I have finally been able to add my Jim pics from the Bruce Almighty
premiere that I went to! They are really good close up shots! I
shook his hand as he worked his way down the line. It was my first
time meeting him. The time I actually talked to him came later when
I was at the screening for Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind.
(See story below)

YOU NEED TO ATTAIN MY PERMISSION FIRST by emailing me at: jimecarrey2000@yahoo.com
Keep in mind they belong to JIM CARREY IS MY INSPIRATION
website! THANK YOU!
Well, it has finally
happened. I met Jim Carrey.
However before I begin the tale, I have something
else to say on this topic.
Someone signed my guestbook as a private entry
and then decided to not tell me who they were when I opened the
message to read it. Why hide who you are? Anyway, the message read
"Instead of bragging about your close encounters with Jim Carrey,
why don't you actually tell people how he inspired you?" I personally
think that in my write-up about my encounter with Jim, I make it
very clear how he has inspired me. I would challenge anyone to go
through what I have and then see how they would handle it. This
situation I have been through is not something I am proud of, so
I would hardly call my entry about meeting Jim "bragging". I would
never want to go through this situation again!
Do I feel blessed that I have met him? Yes, I do.
I will not lie about that. After all, I have admired him for 13
years now. He is who inspired me to chase my dream. Never did I
imagine that someday I would be going through all the hard times
he did. So it makes me feel even more inspired by him. But by my
telling others what happened, I meant for it to be inspiring for
others. That their hope of meeting him someday will happen.
I am sorry if anyone has taken anything I have
said about my meeting Jim in the wrong way. I am not "bragging"
about it. I am simply telling my story. Jim Carrey Online has a
whole section dedicated just for you to tell your story about meeting
Jim or Jim sightings. So I feel my telling my story is no different
then others telling their tale as well. Now on with the story...
:-)
I went to the first screening of Jim's upcoming
movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which was very very
good by the way. Well, Jim is known to show up at the first screenings
for his movies. So we sat as far back as possible in the theater
in hopes of seeing him sneak in the back door after the lights went
down. Well, we never saw him come in.
Next thing I know, after the movie we looked up
and saw Jim's personal assistant, Linda. So we knew that Jim HAD
to be there somewhere.
So we went outside and decided to go to the back
of the theater to see if Jim came out the back. When we got back
there, we saw a black SUV waiting by the sidewalk with it's lights
on. We sat by the car waiting to see if Jim came out and to see
who was going to get into that SUV. I did not want to pass up my
chance to meet him.
About 30 minutes of waiting, Jim, his daughter Jane,
Linda, and some other man walk out the back doors. Then a few other
guys joined in the group. They were just standing out there talking.
By this point it is 10:00 pm and I told them that if the group got
smaller I would go over to Jim. About 10 seconds later, about 3
of the people walked off and all that was left was Jim, Jane, Linda,
and the guy who I assume is a bodyguard. So I got a fresh piece
of gum and decided that I should not litter (LOL) and go over to
the trashcan that was about 5 feet from Jim and his group. So I
started walking over there like I was on some mission from God!
LOL
I threw my trash away and took one step away from
the trash can and I waited. All 4 of them looked over at me at the
same time and the bodyguard guy kinda tensed up a bit but Jim put
is hand out towards them and said really sweetly, "No. It's okay."
He looked me right in the eye, smiled really big,
put out his hand before he even got over to me and walked up to
me and shook my hand. So I proceeded to apologize to the group for
interuppting.
I looked up at Jim and I said the following: "I
have been wanting to tell you something for the longest time." He
was smiling at me and said, "Okay." I said, "I have recently gone
through some very difficult times that I know for fact you can relate
to. I was living out of a car with my family earlier this year and
now I am staying in a hotel room in exchange for my stay there.
I have been following your career for 12 years now and it freaks
me out that my life is become parallel to your past." He said, "Oh,
man." Like he was sympathetic. But he looked at me and never looked
away. He seemed really interested in what I had to say.
I then said, "I have something for you. I have been
carrying this around with me for awhile now." And I pulled out the
letter I had written him earlier this year. I said, "It is only
one page. Short, sweet and to the point." He said, "That's okay."
I said, "Please read this whenever you get a chance.
It explains my situation in more detail and it would be nice to
vent to someone who I know understands what it is like. Plus on
top of the pressure pile, I came out here to act so that just adds
to the pile of crap."
He said, "Don't call it crap. Just keep the faith."
I said, "Well, I am still going through these hard times so it is
crap. Maybe one day I will look back and laugh but not right now."
And he smiled. Then he put out his hand to shake mine again so I
shook it and then we were hugging.
So I told him once more to read it when he got the
chance and really sweetly he said, "I will. I will. Thank you."
Jim's daughter was smiling the entire time at me. LOL So I am relieved
that I got to tell Jim how I feel and give him my letter about my
situation. Just pray that he responds in some way. I really need
to talk to someone who can fully understand how I am feeling. And
you could tell while I was talking to Jim that he certainly did
not expect me to tell him all I did. I did not ask for a picture
or an autograph. That would be acting like a typical fan and I did
not want to treat him like that. So I handled it very classy and
did not studder or mess up what I had to say.
But I am kinda disappointed now that it is over.
So I find myself getting kinda sad every once and a while in fear
that he will not respond. Even a letter would be something. Ya know?
I am not a typical fan. I am not trying to gush all over him. I
just need to talk to my mentor basically. So as silly as it may
sound, please pray that this is not the end of this story.
Bruce Almighty Premiere
Yes, you heard it here first everyone! I went to
the Bruce Almighty premiere and we were standing right at the front
of the barricade. So when he came down the red carpet, he stopped
to do a few interviews and then actually came over to the crowd!
He signed autographs etc. And he worked his way down the line, came
to me and shook my hand. I made eye contact and all!! So I smiled
really big. But I did not ask for an autograph or anything because
I did not want to seem like just another fan. I wanted to be more
classy then that.
We almost won tickets to go inside to see the premiere!
But instead I have 2 Bruce posters, a sign, and I won concert tickets
from a local radio station. Some other famous people that were there
were the other stars of the movie including Jennifer Aniston! And
Will Farrell, Rodney Dangerfield, Tom Shadyac (the director), Hillary
Duff, Shannon Elizabeth, Lance Bass, and Leann Rymes.
Cameras were going crazy and so were the cameras
of ET, Extra, Access Hollywood, and news stations. So make sure
you look for me if you happen to watch. You never know, you might
see me.
NEWS SOOOOOOO OLD
THAT YOU'VE BEEN LIVING IN A HOLE IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT:
The "Rally For Jim" is turned out to be a success.
We have received our first response. Go to the Rally

Director of Communiactions at the Academy.
